Hotels and properties for rent in Elbląg

When choosing Masurian accommodation - Elbląg is a city worth considering. Why? Below is a brief description of what the city has to offer to tourists and visitors.

Elbląg is the second largest city in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in terms of population (after Olsztyn, the capital of the region). It is famous for its reconstruction in a thoughtful manner and in accordance with the old character of the Old Town. In Elbląg, we can enter the highest church tower in the region (Saint Nicholas Cathedral), from which we can admire a beautiful view of the city, Żuławy and Wysoczyzna Elbląska. To find yourself on the highest viewing terrace of the Saint. Nicholas, located at an altitude of about 70 m, you have to overcome 366 degrees. The Gothic cathedral of Saint Nicholas  (18 Mostowa Street) is one of the most interesting monuments in Elbląg. You can see here, among others, exceptional late Gothic altars.

An interesting relic of the former Elbląg is the Church Path, a narrow street that once connected the church of St. Nicholas with the church and hospital St. Spirit (currently there is a library in its walls). From the former medieval city fortifications, the Market Gate has been preserved, at which the statue of Piekarczyk (25 Rynek Stary Street) was erected, the legendary defender of Elbląg from the times of conflicts with the Teutonic Knights. In the area where the Teutonic castle once stood, there is now the Museum of Archeology and History in Elbląg (Bulwar St. Zygmunt Augustus 11). You can see interesting exhibitions related to the history of the city and the region. Particular emotions are caused by the exhibition "Elbląg Reconditus", which in an innovative way tells the story of Elbląg and its inhabitants. Its part is a holographic film about the complex history of the region. In turn, north of the cathedral of St. Nicholas' Gallery in the former Dominican church is currently the EL Gallery, an art gallery and a place of interesting cultural events.

Elbląg is also an important node of water routes - from here you can go on a cruise along the Elbląg Canal or along the Żuławy Loop. Elbląg is also a city where it starts, numbering over 2,000. km, the East Green Bicycle Trail. Lovers of active holidays should go to Bażantarnia, a historic forest park, located on the edge of the Elbląg Upland. As you can see, the city is incredibly attractive for tourists, so if you are wondering where else to choose accommodation - Elbląg is a great idea!
