Noclegi Biskupiec

Biskupiec was founded by the Warmian bishops in the 14th century as one of the last cities in Warmia. The city has preserved the original medieval spatial layout with atmospheric streets. In Biskupiec you can visit Gothic, repeatedly rebuilt, church. St. John the Baptist, on the tower of which there is a viewpoint to admire the beauty of Warmian terrains.

Also noteworthy is the former Evangelical church built in the nineteenth century, and funded by King Frederick William IV himself. This church is a beautiful example of the neo-Romanesque empire basilica. In the World War II times alot of local buildings was completly destroyed, howvwer, about a dozen or so remained in good condition and today we can admire the pre-second world war historic tenements, which are located at the market and in its vicinity.

Biskupiec can also boast of industrial architecture - a well-known brewery operated here, whose nineteenth-century building has survived to this day. The times of the greatest development of the Biskupiec brewery fall on the years when it was owned by the Daum family. In 1910, mineral water and lemonade were also bottled here. The buildings of the old eldership (today the Town Hall), the tile house (currently a restaurant), a former hospital (now a gymnasium and a high school) and an old pharmacy with characteristic decorative human faces also draw attention to architecture. A characteristic element of the Biskupiec landscape is also the former military barracks, in which today there are private flats and state institutions. Picturesquely located on the Dymer river, Biskupiec is a town where time and life flow slower.
