Picturesquely situated on the longest lake in Poland - Jeziorak, Iława is a good starting point for sails thanks to the connection of the Elbląg Canal with Miłomłyn. From here you can reach Ostróda, Elbląg and further to the Baltic Sea. At Lake Jeziorak you can take a walk along the promenade or take a boat ride to Ilavia. There are 16 islands on Jeziorak, including the largest inland island in Poland - Wielka Żuława. In the vicinity of the city there is a beautiful Landscape Park of the Iława Lake District with numerous cycling and walking routes.

Being in Iława, it is worth visiting the Gothic church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, as well as seeing the remains of the medieval city walls and entering the tower of the nineteenth-century town hall. In the center of the city there are four baroque sculptures - Junona, Meduza, Jupiter and Hercules, which originally were the furnishings of the von Ficnenstein palace in nearby Kamieniec.
