Rich museum collections invite you to learn about history and culture from the Paleolithic to modern times. Each of the museum branches introduces visitors to a different, unique atmosphere.

While visiting the Młyńska Island and at the same time reaching the threshold of the Modern Art Gallery, one of the largest collections of works by Polish masters of painting awaits art connoisseurs. The exhibitions located on three floors are a presentation of 200 paintings, photograms, sculptures and objects and installations, selected from nearly thirteen thousand items of Polish artistic productions created in the twentieth century, belonging to one of the most representative collections of modern art in the country.

The museum is not only art. You can find out about what is hidden inside the exhibition at interactive exhibitions in the Archaeological Collections. This is where a unique collection of monuments awaits, including the oldest ones from the Stone Age. Thanks to an interesting artistic arrangement and numerous reconstructions, you can move into the atmosphere of those times.

History enthusiasts at the European Money Center can learn about the activities of the royal mint of Bydgoszcz and the coin production process. At the exhibition, it is worth seeing a model of a stylized screw and a three-dimensional presentation of the famous gold study coin from 1621, considered one of the most beautiful European coins.

A journey from the Old Market Square to the city center is waiting for the visitors of Spichrze nad Brda. Walk through the streets of interwar Bydgoszcz ". The exhibition shows in an interactive way interwar, multicultural Bydgoszcz and historical city pedigree. In addition, the exhibition is a kind of guide, which presents the most important symbols of the city, elements of urban architecture, interesting places, as well as people and their daily life and the remaining souvenirs.

A unique collection dedicated to the patron of the museum awaits in the salon interiors of the Leon Wyczółkowski House. Visitors can, among others, visit the painter's and graphic artist's studio. On the exhibition you can find a graphic press, which was used by the artist and an easel called a "tram" with the palette and brushes of the master.

Exploseum is a place whose origin has long fascinated history and military enthusiasts, and at the same time the youngest branch of the District Museum. The almost two-kilometer touring route runs through the system of ground and underground tunnels, preserved since World War II, deep into the exhibition, surprising with many historical contexts.
