Tomaszów Mazowiecki is a city in the Lodz region. The city is located on both sides of Pilica and is therefore subject to two historical and cultural regions. The greater part of the city is located on the left bank of the river and is under Mazowsze, while the part which is on the right side of the river belongs to Lesser Poland. The first settlement in the city was established in 1789.

Being in this city you sholud visit three churches - the church of Saint. Antoni Padewski, the classicistic Evangelical-Augsburg church of the Holy Trinity, the Evangelical-Augsburg Church of the Savior.

In this city there is also the Ostrowski Palace - the founders of the city. It was built in 1812, then rebuilt several times. At present, there is the Regional Museum of them. Antoni hr. Ostrowski.

In the vicinity of Tomaszów Mazowiecki, you can find many tourist attractions. Of particular interest is the Bison Breeding Center in Smardzewice, where at the moment there are 20 bison. In close proximity there is the Sulejów Lagoon, an artificial lake created in 1973 by damming Pilica waters with a dam in Smardzewice. It is a great place to relax and practice sailing.
