On August 13, 2013, the third edition of the Lavender Festival was held for the third time in Uniejów. The holiday is organized by the four-star SPA hotel Lawendowe Termy in Uniejów, whose garden is decorated with 4 thousand lavender cuttings.
The event aims to promote the unusual properties of this aromatic plant. In addition to lavender deli, you could buy handicrafts with lavender drought, bouquets, lavender teas, candles and cosmetics. At the stands, lavender planters shared knowledge related to the care of this beautiful, but somewhat capricious in cultivation of plants.
In the afternoon, distillation of lavender oil took place in a giant distiller. Distillation was carried out on the basis of Uniejów lavender and thermal water.
People interested in natural medicine listened to the lecture of the beekeeper Lavender Barci Pod Lasem "On the advantages of apitherapy" during which honey tasting with lavender took place.
On that day, workshops for arranging lavender bouquets were also planned. Participants made a unique souvenir in clay with plant motifs and stressed people learned about the methods of mental relaxation and techniques of reducing tension from the body. Participation in the workshop was free.
The attractions were accompanied by an exhibition of photographs from the lavender open air of Dorota Górecka, which gained popularity thanks to the photography series on ophelia's madness (Black water), published in photographic magazines in Poland, Portugal, Italy, Great Britain, France, China and the USA.
For those who love new flavors, the Lavender Term Restaurant has prepared a lavender dinner during which one could listen to the piano concert of Tomasz Walczak. An outstanding composer, arranger and pianist who performed with the French repertoire.
At the end of the festival, a special prize was drawn: a stay in Lawendowe Termy - for guests who visited the festival dressed in lavender that day.
