Description
The park is located in two municipalities - Krynica Morska and Sztutowo.
This area is characterized by sandy beaches, dunes overgrown mainly by pine trees and the richness of birds, which bird paradise has created here. There are three nature reserves in this area.
Buki Mierzeja Wiślanej is a forest reserve that protects the only natural beech site in this area. Trees growing here are about 200 years old. Mewia Łacha, in turn, is a mainstay of water-marsh birds, protecting itself on the bends formed on the extension of the axis of the Vistula current.
About 220 species of birds live here, of which the breeding colony of terns is particularly valuable. You will find plenty species living here that can't be found anywhere else in Poland. Kąty Rybackie Reserve is in turn an area protecting the largest colony of cormorants in Poland. There nest about 10,000 breeding pairs of these birds.
