DOLL

A STORY ABOUT FEELS AND DESIRE

THE LALKA by Wojciech Kościelniak is the first musical reading of the novel by Prus. Novels, once undervalued (she was accused of chaos and lack of order), today thoroughly described and considered the best novel of the era. From the novel counting hundreds of pages, and mentioning over 300 surnames of Kościelniak, he removed many threads. Not always what is interesting when reading is also interesting stage. - I used the love theme between Łęcka and Wokulski. I did not fit Stawska's story, there is no thread of the tenement house, students. Krzeszowska is also treated very rudimentary - the director points out. Wokulski at Kościelniak is a mysterious and contradictory merchant, by others called a madman and a troublemaker. His aspirations and energy clash with the harmful stereotypes of aristocracy, for them (as well as for his beloved) he will always remain a fancy merchant. He bitterly states that a slob, a sharp, even a thief, if he has a surname, is a good company for them (...) but the buyer is a pariah. He loves crazy, he loses his mind, he wants to get rid of everything to win Izabela's love. Izabela Łęcka defies a clear assessment. One can get the impression that we are watching two Łęcki at the same time - one beautiful but vain snob (quite banal in general) and the second - seen in the eyes of Wokulski - a mysterious, deep and true woman. During the meeting with the prince, Łęcka appears to Stanisław as a beautiful angel calling him to keep climbing up.

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF

A poor milkman, whose faith, hope and prayer allow with all serenity endure all adversities and face the difficulties associated with life, makes choices and makes decisions with natural weather and faith in the harmony of the world around him ... Musical is an adaptation of Szolem Alejchem's book, telling about the fate of a Jewish family, sentenced to exile from their native village in Tsarist Russia. "Fiddler on the Roof" is also an image of transformations, falling of the tradition, of which so much is said and which does not stand up to the confrontation with new phenomena. Musical "Fiddler on the Roof" is an undisputed masterpiece of the genre. After the premiere in 1964, which was a huge success on Broadway, it is played with great success on stages around the world.
