Description

Museum of Military Technology GRYF, or tanks among Kashubian forests.

Museum of Military Technology GRYF in Dąbrówka near Wejherowo is one of the biggest military attractions in northern Poland. It is located on a vast area of 15 ha, which was hosted in the past by a missile unit, defending during the Cold War of the Tri-City area against air attacks. Thanks to this, the entire complex is perfectly created for a museum facility of a military nature, ensuring active spending of free time for the whole family.

What's worth seeing?

Guests are welcomed by a large anti-aircraft rocket aimed at the sky, next to barracks buildings, and further into the forest launcher posts and reconstructed with attention to detail, a command shelter along with a missile guidance station. But this is only a foretaste of what you can see in "Gryfie". The collection currently includes more than 80 vehicles, guns and rockets, including the famous Soviet T-34/85 medium series, the replica of the German "Panther" known from the participation in the films "City'44" and "Time of Honor" from the TV series "Czterej pancerni i pies" ", Half-track and OT-810 half-track transporters and numerous vintage cars: Opel, Mercedes, Ziła, GAZy, Stary from the 1930s to the 1980s. The gem of the collection is one of the oldest functional and registered cars in Poland - the American Holsman Model 3 from 1905! All exhibits are presented in the halls, so always, regardless of the weather, there are excellent conditions of exposure for visitors.

Panther or "Rudy"?

A visit to the museum is not just about sightseeing. A great attraction is the opportunity to ride virtually all vehicles from the museum collection on a large training ground. An unforgettable experience provides a feeling for a tanker - a member of the crew of "Rudy 102", or his opponent - the German "Panther". Everyone can experience it and feel the power of the armored colossus. More groups of visitors can count on the caterpillar BAT-M, he can take on board up to 30 people. However, this is not all. For those who want a strong experience, the museum provides off-road driving on a mini-golf with the famous 4x4 off-road vehicles: Mercedes G "Wolf" and UNIMOG. Museum of Military Technology GRYF also rents antique cars and military vehicles for historical reconstructions, films or special events. The splendid Opel Super 6 limousines and Mercedes-Benz Typ 230 from 1938 are perfect for a young couple.

Fun with the sapper and not only ...

It is also worth visiting the accompanying Explosive Museum, where one of the largest collections of bombs, mines, grenades and artillery ammunition was collected in Poland. Children can empathize with the role of a sapper, trying to "mine away" a minefield or undergo training on a grenade viewport.

You can also check your shooting skills at the sports shooting range. There are 12 positions on two axes, 50 and 100 m long.
