During his reign, the castle is surrounded by massive stone defensive walls along with a system of gates, and brick residential buildings erected. During this period a forward tower is being built, which is a unique example of this type of building in Poland. The final shape of the castle is adopted in the sixteenth century after the reconstruction supervised by the renowned Renaissance architect Jakub Parra.
