The Filumenistyczny Museum in Bystrzyca Kłodzka is the only museum in Poland where exhibits on fire are collected.

The Filumenistic Museum in Bystrzyca Kłodzka is the fourth in the world - after England, Sweden and the Czech Republic, this type of museum. Bystrzyca Museum deals with everything that concerns fire in the history of material culture, technology and art. Therefore, do not confuse it with other museums and museum collections that contain matches. The name of the museum is related to the field of science, which is philospheres. The word is a combination of two words, the Greek word phileo - to love and the Latin word lumen - light. It means collecting pick-up labels, matchboxes, items related to fire-less methods.

The Filumenistyczny Museum is housed in two buildings erected in 1821-1822 in the classical style according to a design approved by Karl Schinkel. They housed an Evangelical church and an evangelical church school. Unfortunately, immediately after the uprising, both buildings destroyed the fire, and their reconstruction lasted until 1823. After World War II, the church building was unused until the 1960s, when it was decided to allocate it to the headquarters of the newly created museum. The opening of the Filumenist Museum took place on July 19, 1964, on the initiative of the inhabitants of Bystrzyca Kłodzka, representatives of the match factory and the Society of Bystrzyca Kłodzka Enthusiasts.

The first manager of the facility was Helena Getter, a well-known social activist, among others co-founder of the Society of Kłodzko Lovers. She was born in 1904 in the Vilnius region and died aged 78 in Wrocław. She managed the Bystrzyca branch until September 1972.

The entire museum, its collections and the presented style constitute an extremely different and attractive tourist attraction, on the scale of the region and the world. Due to its subject matter, the Filumenistyczny Museum is popular among visitors, both children and the elderly. It is to them that the idea of a museum has been addressed, which until now has fulfilled its role.

The main core of the museum collection are items used to ignite the fire, among others: lighter, gasoline, gas, electric, chemical lighters, metal and rocket flinters, as well as packaging and labels fused from Poland, Europe and the whole world.
