Description
Kajka was of peasant descent - he dealt with carpentry and masonry. In his poems he praised the beauty of Masuria. During his lifetime, the collection of the Masurian Songs (1927) was published, and after his death the following poems were published: Selection of poems (1954), Selected Poems (1958), I harvested a harvest ... (1958), Fun narratives (1970), From my spiritual niva. .. (1982).
Kajka also engaged politically - he acted for the Polish language and Masuria, living in a German state. He died in the garden in 1940 and here is his grave. Museum. Michał Kajka is housed in a house that the poet built himself and in which he lived until his death.
There are displayed souvenirs related to the Kajka, manuscripts of his poems - all in the context of the situation of Masuria in East Prussia at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
