The name of the forester's lodge came from fogs, vapors floating in the morning over the surrounding waters and wetlands - the local meadows are "prały".

Leśniczówka was founded around 1880. In the years 1950-1953 (four times in summer, once in winter) an outstanding poet, Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński and his family stayed here. Gałczyński went to the laundry to rest and change the environment.

At the beginning of the 1950s he found himself in a difficult situation - he was devastated and demotivated by the exclusion of him from the artistic life by the communist authorities.

The laundry delighted the poet right away. Beautiful landscapes, unspoilt nature, peace and quiet worked on Gałczyński soothingly - he felt like a newborn here. He would walk, fish, bathe in the lake and ... he wrote. It was here, in Masuria, that he wrote well-known songs - Niobe, Kronika Olsztyńska, Wit Stwosz, Pieśni.

Already in the 1960s, a memorial room devoted to Gałczyński was created in the forester's lodge, and in 1980 a museum was named here. We can see souvenirs related to the writer - photos, manuscripts, drawings.

At the forester's lodge we will also see a monument of the poet and a monument of the famous Green Geese. The museum organizes many interesting cultural events, where in the beautiful scenery you can listen to and see the stars of Polish theater and Polish song.
